Neighbourhood associations in Ontario are challenged to build membership levels to anything like the proportion to residents who “should” be involved. Among the most successful we have encountered, fewer than 14% of households have paid their annual dues. You and your fellow volunteers are rightly concerned about apathy. Let’s explore together how we can turn the tide, because paid membership is important in two particular ways:
- It provides revenue to support the work of the Association
- It demonstrates the engagement from which influence derives
